Verification and audit

Services

The weekly management checkSomeone with authority reads the week's records, finds what is missing or out of limit, and signs to say what was found. It is how a business finds out that monitoring has quietly stopped.7 stepsVerifying by samplingNobody can recheck every record, so a planned sample is checked by someone who did not make them. The check is a record of its own, and a pass or a fail both count as work done.7 stepsInternal auditsAn internal audit asks whether the whole system works on the floor, not only on paper. Someone independent looks for evidence, reports what they found, and checks that each fix really happened.10 stepsEquipment and thermometer registerA reading is only as good as the unit it came from and the instrument that took it. A register answers three questions about any reading: which unit was it, how many readings did that unit owe, and was the thermometer fit to take it?8 stepsFood fraud and food defenceProtecting food from deliberate adulteration and substitution.Coming
