Receiving a delivery

Decision 1 of 7

Know what has arrived

What happens

Match the delivery to an order and a supplier on your list. Sort it into ambient, chilled and frozen, because that sets which checks it needs.

Good looks like

The receiver has the order open before the tailgate drops, and goes to the chilled lines first.

How it goes wrong

The first pallet off the truck is dry goods, so the docket gets signed, and the chilled cartons underneath are never read.

Is it from an approved supplier, or a recorded emergency purchase?Yes: Carry on with the checksNo: Refuse it and tell the manager on duty
Who
Technical

Treat a mixed delivery by its most demanding line. When one truck carries goods from several suppliers, read each supplier's goods, since they may have had different journeys.
